Chiefs Clinch Playoff Spot


PEORIA — After defeating Quad Cities, 2-1, Thursday night at O'Brien Field, the Peoria Chiefs solidified a spot in the Midwest League playoffs – the first time since 2006 the Cubs' Class-A affiliate has reached the postseason.

Chiefs manager Marty Pevey said he is happy the team clinched a postseason berth, but said he is still eyeing a bigger picture — a shot to win the division title. "We're all real proud.
