Albert Almora, the Cubs # 1 draft pick in 2012, tweeted tonight (March 14) @albertlamora that he had broken his hamate bone (located in wrist). He did not indicate how long he would be out or how it happened.
It shouldn't if he actually broke it yesterday, which it sounds like. The problem with some players is that they break it, don't know it, and keep playing. Which usually results in surgery. Look for Trey Martin in centerfield for Kane County to start the season. He can play.
