| Selected as the Cubs' eighth round pick in the 2005 draft from North Carolina State University (scout: Billy Swoope) ... Went to Low A Boise and batted .215 in 37 games ... Promoted to High-A Daytona on 6/19/06 ... Batted .205 for Peoria prior to promotion ... Threw out 54 percent (20 of 37) of would-be base stealers with Chiefs ... With Daytona, he batted .211 in 45 games and threw out 33 of 75 opposing runners (44 percent). ... batted .180 in 71 games with Class A Daytona in 2007. ...
