| Selected by Cubs in 13th round of 2002 draft from Lamar University (scout: Steve Riha) ... Spent most all of 2005 at Triple-A Iowa, batting .268 in 119 games ... In 2006, he began the year at Double-A before moving up to Triple-A and batting .267 with 12 home runs and 49 RBIs in 77 games ... Combined to hit 22 home runs and drive in 80 runs in 2006 between AA and AAA. ... Batted .319 with 16 home runs and 73 RBI in 82 games with Class AAA Iowa in 2007 ... missed second half with knee injury. ... 2008: Began season on the disabled list (oblique muscle) ... batted .362 with 25 HR, 34 doubles and 100 RBI in 72 games with Class AAA Iowa ... promoted to Chicago on Sept. 1. |
