| Selected by Cubs in second round of 2004 draft (scout: Stan Zielinski) from Notre Dame University ... right-hander made professional debut in 2005 with Class A Peoria, making 14 starts and going 3-8 with a 3.82 ERA in 73 innings, striking out 52 and walking 26 ... In 2006, right-hander began the year by making 10 starts in the starting rotation for Class-A Daytona, going 4-5 with 5.17 ERA in 54 innings ... Moved to bullpen in late June following month-long stint in the bullpen ... went 3-1 with 4.03 ERA in 21 appearances spanning 38 innings ... 2007: appeared in 44 games between Class A Daytona and Class AA Tennessee, posting a 4.11 ERA in 70 innings. |
