Coleman, who turns 23 on July 3, has by and large held his own in the Pacific Coast League this season. Through 15 starts, he has a 4.48 ERA and 48 strikeouts to 24 walks. He is coming off perhaps the worst start of his career, in which he allowed eight runs and nine hits in five innings against Omaha on June 25.

NEW ORLEANS -- Right-hander Casey Coleman will be the first to tell you that he enjoys being in the shadows with regards to prospect rankings and the like. Coleman was a 15th-round Cubs draft pick in 2008 from Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers. By age 22 and in only his second full season of pro ball, he had advanced to Triple-A Iowa.
