Lambert Thriving In New Role


SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – When the Cubs selected Casey Lambert in the sixth-round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft, they expected him to be a relief pitcher. Now Lambert is excelling in a new role for the Tennessee Smokies.

Lambert is enjoying his first season in a starting role after being strictly a relief pitcher throughout his first two seasons in the Cubs minor league system and his collegiate career at the University of Virginia.
