Roquet Named to AFL's Rising Stars Showcase
The right-hander spent most of 2008 at Class AA Tennessee, where he was 4-2 with three saves and a 3.70 ERA in 48-2/3 innings, striking out 54 batters and walking 27.
Roquet was promoted to Class AAA Iowa on Sept. 2 and made his Triple-A debut on Sept. 3. In two appearances with Iowa, he combined for four shutout innings, striking out five batters and allowing two hits. He has not been scored on in nine of his last 11 outings dating back to Aug. 21 at Tennessee.
The Cubs signed Roquet as a non-drafted free agent from Cal-Poly in 2006.
