Matt Matulia Promoted

INF Matt Matulia has been promoted from Class High-A Daytona to Double-A Tennessee.

Matulia, 23, batted .317 (13-for-41) in 14 games with Daytona prior to the promotion and was 2-for-5 with a stolen base in the team's 8-7 win at St. Lucie on Friday.

The Cubs added Matulia in the 24th round of the 2006 draft from The Citadel. He batted .249 in 128 games at Daytona a season ago, garnering mid-season Florida State League All-Star honors and finishing with three home runs, 18 doubles, eight triples and 38 RBI.
