Len and Bob Bash Set for Jan. 17

Posted Dec 20, 2007

CHICAGO -- Len Kasper and Bob Brenly team up outside of the broadcast booth to host the second annual Len & Bob Bash on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at the House of Blues in Chicago.

The alternative-country group Son Volt, who played at this year's Lollapalooza, will headline the 2008 Bash. Son Volt was formed by Jay Farrar in 1994 after the band Uncle Tupelo dissolved. The opening act for the Bash will be The Felice Brothers.

The event is made possible through the tremendous support and efforts of sponsors Bud Light, House of Blues and WGN Sports.

"Bob and I are really excited about the Bash. It's such a fun way to kick off Cubs Convention weekend and to raise money for Chicago Cubs Charities," said Kasper. "Son Volt is a terrific alt-country band and we're delighted to have them as our featured headliner. And rumor has it, Bob and I will blast our way through a couple cover songs again in another effort to prove we should keep our day jobs."

Tickets for the Bash go on sale tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 20, through the House of Blues web site (HOB.com), at all Ticketmaster outlets, by calling 312-559-1212 or at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets are $30 in advance and $33 on the day of the show. Doors for the 21 and over show open at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit Chicago Cubs Charities.

Last year's inaugural Len & Bob Bash sold out quickly and raised more than $50,000 for Chicago Cubs Charities. The funds benefited a number of organizations including the Illinois chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Project 3000, an organization co-founded by Derrek Lee that helps children who suffer from Leber's Congenital Amaurosis.
