Pignatiello spent most of last year at Triple-A, but found himself back at West Tenn for the start of '06. A former starter with the organization and 2000 draft pick, he appeared in 37 games with the Jaxx in relief this season, going 3-1 with a 2.88 ERA and 69 strikeouts to 18 walks in 56 1/3 innings.

To coincide with the moves, right-hander Hugo Castellanos was demoted from Iowa to West Tenn. The 26-year-old came over from the Triple-A Mexican League and had appeared in just two games for Iowa.
Castellanos appeared in 22 games, including 17 starts, for Potros de Tijuana. He was 6-0 with a 3.17 ERA and 111 strikeouts in 110 2/3 innings earlier this year, and had previously spent a half-season with the Jaxx in 2004.
He and pitcher Mac Suzuki joined the Cubs from Tijuana on Aug. 11.
