Kris Bryant slugged his minor league leading 41st homer but it wasn’t enough as Iowa lost its sixth straight. Addison Russell’s two-run homer helped Tennessee to a victory while Kane County won its minor league best 83rd game. Second-round pick Jake Stinnett made his NWL debut as Boise won.

AAA—Reno 11, Iowa 4 Former Cub Brett Jackson homered and knocked in three runs to help lead Reno to the win over Iowa, their sixth straight defeat. At the Dish: Iowa scored all four runs in the third as Kris Bryant (.312/.426/.663) launched his 19th AAA homer, a two-run shot. It was Bryant’s minor league leading 41st on the season. Logan Watkins (.256/.329/.364) got the I-Cubs on the board with a RBI single and after Bryant’s blast, Manny Ramirez (.209/.264/.373) and Rafael Lopez (.274/.374/.321) hit back-to-back doubles. Iowa had 11 hits as Bryant, Ryan Kalish (.242/.321/.375) and Jokisch had two hits each. On the Hill: Erick Jokisch (9-10, 3.63 ERA) was cruising along but never made it out of the sixth, surrendering four runs before the frame was over. Jokisch threw 91 pitches in the outing, allowing eight hits to go along with four punchouts. The left-hander leads the PCL in innings (156) and strikeouts (141).
