AAA—Iowa

Iowa had Wednesday off and hosts Round Rock in a four-game series. Kyle Hendricks faces his old organization as he gets the start on Thursday night.

AA—Tennessee

The Smokies game at Jackson was rained out and will not be made up as the two teams do not meet again in the first half......The Smokies are leading the league in most offensive categories and are second in AVG, SB, and BB........They also lead all of the minors in runs, hits, and batting average for the month of May (1-13).

High A—Daytona 6, Charlotte 2

Tim Saunders launched a grand slam in the bottom of the 8th to give Daytona the win over Charlotte.

At the Dish: Tough start for Daytona as they only had one hit through five innings before Zeke DeVoss walked, stole second and trotted home on Albert Almora's two-run homer, his second of the season. Daytona loaded the bases in the eighth with two outs and on a 3-2 pitch, Saunders deposited the ball over the left field wall for a grand slam and the lead....Almora singled in the four-run 8th but was thrown out on a controversial call at second trying to stretch it into a double.....Saunders added a single and Daniel Vogelbach was 2-3 with a walk......Willson Contreras recorded his first extra base hit of the year, a double.

On the Hill: Yao-Lin Wang (0-5 7.27 ERA) hasn't found much success as a starter but he found some on Wednesday morning, limiting Charlotte to one earned run over 4.2 innings. He allowed three hits, walked three and fanned four.....Starling Peralta has ben the D-Cubs best pitcher out of the bullpen, stranding 11 or the 12 inherited runners and retired 8 of 10 first batters faced. Using a fastball in the mid-90s and wicked slider in the mid 80s, Peralta has found a groove in the FSL. He made his 10th appearance on Wednesday, and worked 2.1 scoreless frames with three punchouts, surrendering a hit and walk.....Zack Godley (1-0 0.00 ERA) earned the win as the right-hander blanked the Stone Crabs for the final six outs. He pitched around a leadoff bloop double to open the 8th and then retired first two hitters of ninth but a wild pitch on the third strike put a runner on first before getting the final out.

D-Cubs Notes: Ben Wells made his first start with new eyewear on Tuesday. Wells was having trouble seeing the catcher's signals and after getting his eyes check, got new glasses, which he debuted in six shutout innings with 8 K (career high) vs. Charlotte on May 13........Jeimer Candelario was taken out of the game after not running out a ground ball that was turned into a double play in the bottom of the fourth.

Low A—Beloit 2, Kane County 1

Beloit won the pitcher's dual as both teams only managed four hits.

At the Dish: Carlos Penalver manufactured a run in the first as he walked, took second on a wild pitch, stole third, and scored on Benjamin Carhart's RBI groundout. It was the only run of the game for KC, as they were held to four hits, two coming off the bat of Cael Brockmeyer. The Cougars drew five walks but were 0-5 with RISP.

On the Hill: Juan Paniagua (0-2 4.04 ERA) only lasted 3.2 innings as four walks and four hits ate into his pitch count limit. Paniagua was charged with two runs, one coming on a solo homer, and fanned three....Justin Amlung (3-0 2.17 ERA) continues to find success out of the bullpen as the right-hander added 3.1 more innings to his scoreless relief streak that stands at 11.2.....Tyler Bremer (4-0 2.65 ERA) worked a 1-2-3 8th.

Cougars Notes: Duane Underwood (0-0 2.91 ERA) takes the mound as the Cougars open a four-game homestand with Quad Cities.

On the Mound: Mauro Vides allowed a hit and two walks in three scoreless innings.....Salvador Jerez yielded a unearned run on two hits and a walk in 2.2 innings......Ramon Valera got the loss and the blown save giving up four runs, two earned, over the final 2.1 innings.
