2014 NC STATE SPRING ROSTER
NC State has posted an updated spring roster on GoPack.com and there are a couple of changes to the roster.
First of all, senior tackle Robert Crisp is no longer listed. Crisp, who missed nearly all of the 2013 season with an injury, would need to request for a fifth year to return and play in 2014.
Crisp, a two-year starter entering the 2013 season, was replaced at left tackle by sophomore Joe Thuney.
Also, NC State has added Ty Linton to the roster. A freshman linebacker, Linton signed with North Carolina out of Charlotte (NC) Christian in 2010 but chose to pursue a pro baseball career after being signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
He has now retired from baseball and after briefly re-committing to UNC he chose to enroll at NC State.
"Honestly, I have history with coach Doeren," Linton told Pack Pride in December. "He actually gave me my first scholarship offer when he was at Wisconsin. With him being the linebackers coach there he knew what type of a player I could be, and it's good to go where people know you.
"I wasn't recruited by Fedora and his coaches out of high school. I kind of went with history there. I have a history with coach Doeren, and I think it's a better fit honestly."
Linton, who is listed at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, will wear No. 33 for the Wolfpack.
