AAA Toledo Mud Hens
1-4, 4th in West Division
Runs were at a premium on Monday as Toledo was unable to muster up enough to top Indianapolis, falling in a 3-1 final. Nick Castellanos drove in the lone run for the Mud Hens, going 1-for-2 with a walk in the loss. Starting pitcher Jose Alvarez gave up three runs on seven hits in four innings of work, earning his first loss of the season.
AA Erie Seawolves
2-3, 3rd in Eastern Division
Erie had no trouble getting hits Monday night, but runs were not as easy to tally as the SeaWolves fell to Binghamton 7-2. The team outhit Binghamton 11-8, but James McCann was the lone Erie player to drive in runs, going 3-for-4 with two runs driven in. Starting pitcher Victor Larez took a no decision in the start, giving up one earned run on two hits in five innings of work. Reliever David Kopp gave up three earned runs in 1 2/3 innings to earn his first loss of the season.
High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
2-2, 3rd in North Division
The Flying Tigers were off on Monday.
Low-A West Michigan Whitecaps
3-2, 1st in Eastern Division
The Whitecaps had no trouble driving in runs on Monday, driving in eleven to top Fort Wayne in an 11-4 final. Right fielder Jeff Holm led the ‘Caps at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run and three runs driven in. Holm was one of six West Michigan players to have at least one RBI. Starting pitcher Edgar De La Rosa earned a no decision in his four innings of work, allowing four runs on five hits. Reliever Yorfrank Lopez earned his first win of the season, pitching four innings of shutout baseball.
