Cubs sign infielder Jesse Hodges

The Chicago Cubs have signed 18-year-old infielder Jesse Hodges, part of the Candadian National Junior Team.

The Chicago Cubs have inked Jesse Hodges to a deal, according to the Island Sports News. No details of the contract have been revealed.

Hodges, an 18-year-old infielder and pitcher, has been playing with the Canadian National Junior Team in Seoul, South Korea.

"Getting signed is an amazing feeling, as it shows that all my hard work is starting to pay off," Hodges told Island Sports News. "However all that matters right now is my Canadian teammates and going for that Gold medal here. I need to stay focused on that right now."

Hodges will forgo playing at Grayson College in Dennison, Texas, where he was set to start school this month.

The Cubs organization has yet to announce the signing of Hodges.
