Anthony Rizzo's Cubs career is set to begin.
The Iowa Cubs announced on Monday that the Cubs' top prospect has been called up to the Chicago Cubs, after being removed in the fourth inning of Iowa's Monday matinee game.
Rizzo, 22, hits .345 with 23 home runs and 62 RBI in 69 gaames with the Cubs' Triple-A club. However, he is currently in a 7-for-35 slump in the last 10 games.
Rizzo was acquired by the Cubs in January in exchange for right-handed pitcher Andrew Cashner. The rebuilding Cubs' record stands at 24-48 entering the start of a three-game series with the New York Mets.
