In his second start of the season, Jacob Turner gave up four unearned runs on eight hits in six innings, picking up the loss. The first batter Turner faced reached on a throwing error and later scored on a groundout as the second out of the inning, so all four runs Turner gave up in the inning were unearned. Outside of that first inning, Turner gave up five hits over his final five innings. He had three strikeouts Saturday after not having one in his previous start. Avisail Garcia went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored as the only Lakeland player to record multiple hits.

Curt Casali went 2-for-5 with two RBIs as West Michigan opened up a 6-0 lead and held on for the win. Thomas Collier threw five scoreless innings in the start, giving up just two hits and picking up the win. But Tim Kelley gave up three earned runs in 2/3 of an inning in the sixth as the game got close again. West Michigan scored in the seventh and eighth to build up the lead, but Ramon Lebron gave up three runs in the ninth without recording an out, so Michael Torrealba came in, allowed two walks but picked up the save. All nine West Michigan hits were singles.
